• Identify various HVAC OR systems retrofits that can be the most energy-efficient, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving hospital sustainability.
 • Explore the fundamentals of various HVAC system types serving hospital OR’s, including traditional chilled-water, DX split systems, low-temp glycol chillers, and desiccant dehumidification units. 
 • Learn how minimum code and compliance requirements for temperature and relative humidly align within the real-world operational capabilities of legacy HVAC systems installed in many existing hospital facilities. 
 • Recognize the limitation of traditional HVAC systems delivering 42°F CWT, and why they may “miss the mark” when trying to produce the desired OR environment.   
 • Understand what surgeons really mean when they insist that the OR be made colder and what issues may arise when attempting to satisfy their demands.
