The increasing global warming effect and need to limit fossil energy use within the following decades demand from the engineering community to develop new technologies and improved operating strategies associated with high efficiency and clean energy solutions. The introduction of today´s incoming new refrigerants to the HVAC+R industry and their environmental impact, will be followed by a review of energy efficiency and decarbonization concepts in buildings from early HVAC design processes thru installation, operation and maintenance stages.
The session will identify opportunities to improve building performance following energy efficiency HVAC and buildings solutions on new and existing facilities.
ASHRAE Research presentations on Advanced Energy Design Guides (AEDG´s) as well as, Net Zero Energy Balance (NZEB) buildings will engage attendants with key opportunities to enhance building energy consumption and on-site power generation, as well as, improved operational strategies thru multidisciplinary work teams focused on high performance buildings.
